It's probably pretty clear from how much I talk about Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children that I love this book to death. And I also love graphic novels. So this announcement (even though it was made about a month ago... where was I??) has me SO EXCITED!!!
From Publishers Weekly:
Comic-Con: Yen Press to Publish Comics Adaptation of 'Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children'
By Calvin Reid
At a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con International, Hachette Book Group graphic novel imprint Yen Press announced plans to publish an adaptation of Ransom Riggs’s bestselling novel, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, which has been on the New York Times children's chapter books list for more than a year. An artist for the one-volume graphic novel adaptation has not been announced; the book is scheduled to be published in 2013.
Originally published by Quirk Books in 2011, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is the story of Jacob, a 16-year-old who travels to a remote island after a family tragedy. He discovers the ruins of the home in the book’s title as well as indications that the “peculiar” children may be a lot more dangerous than merely strange.
A long-time fan of western comics and Japanese manga, Riggs said in a statement that “I'm thrilled about the adaptation of Miss Peregrine into graphic novel form, and doubly thrilled that Yen will be the creative powerhouse spearheading it.”
