WWW Wednesdays #1

WWW Wednesdays is hosted by Should Be Reading. Each Wednesday, you share what you’re currently reading, what you recently finished reading, and what you think you’ll be reading next.

What I'm currently reading: Lost Kingdom: The Last Queen, the Sugar Kings and America's First Imperial Adventure by Julia Flynn Siler. I did a report in elementary school on Queen Lili'uokalani and I've been interested in the history of Hawaii ever since. I've only read the first few chapters, but so far the author is doing a great job of bringing the history alive and making the historical figures feel real.

What I recently finished reading: 13 Hangmen by Art Corriveau. A fun middle grade mystery with a lot of American history woven in. Review to be posted soon!

What I'll be reading next: Spectacle by Angie McCullagh. This YA work is about, among other things, two friends who try to "figure out how to fit into a world that doesn't much like girls who can't, or won't, conform to what's ordinary." That line hooked me immediately and I knew I had to read it!

  1. I love the concept of Spectacle too - I hope it will turn out to be truly awesome.
